Stephen J Shaw (IMBA Class of 1995) touches on ‘Population Decline in Europe’

‘When populations collapse, who is going to pay national debts, fund future pension liabilities and maintain infrastructure costs ? Who is going to look after the elderly?’

These are some concerns that Stephen J Shaw (IMBA Class of 1995) hopes to address through his research on population decline in Europe. Birthrates across many European countries are in decline, creating the possibility for major economic and societal changes in the next generations. In his travels all over Europe to film interviews for a documentary film on population decline, Shaw stopped by ISG for an interview with students at his alma mater.

In this snapshot taken, our third year BBA student Muhammad discovers population trends across Europe and shares his views on the situation in his home country of Mauritius.
